If you're like us, you love Amazon and Amazon Prime. But, you may be a fan of a different music library like Spotify. If that's the case, you should know that you can change your primary music library from Amazon Music to Spotify. We're going to show you how to change the default music provider on your Amazon Echo.
Your Amazon Echo supports two choices for your primary music service. Amazon Music(Obviously) and Spotify. Your default music service is used when you ask to play a song without requesting a specific service.
Alexa, play Nickleback!
Just kidding! No one asks to hear Nickleback!
Alexa, play Taylor Swift!
There we go, everyone loves some Tay Tay! Kidding aside, this is how the majority of your music requests will go. You can, of course, ask to play from other services such as Deezer, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Gimme Radio, and more. But you need to specify that you want to listen to that service.
Alexa, play my Flow on Deezer
Step by step to change your default music service
Open the Alexa App on your phone or go to alexa.amazon.com > Click the Menu button in the top right corner. It looks like a hamburger or three horizontal lines.
Go to settings
Scroll down to Alexa Preferences and find Music & Media
Click > Choose Default Music Service
And, select Spotify or Amazon Music
You did it! Yay, now you can listen to all of your favorite songs on Spotify or Amazon Music!
